I’m sorry…
I've been missing and I'm sorry.
When I started this newsletter I vowed not to miss a week, else I wouldn't start it at all. I held off for years before I thought I could commit to doing one every week. But even with the amount of preparation into giving just some small insights into my thoughts it got the better of me this last month when my photography passion took me off the grid for lengthy periods, and I wasn't prepared enough with weekly editions to be sent.
And for that I'm sorry.
“Growth and comfort do not coexist"
___ Ginni Rometty
Over the past 6-8 weeks, I’ve had the chance to step back, reunite my love of travel with photography and connect again with life, the outside world, and, most importantly, my sheer passion for the indelible moments one can experience through photography.
Between a photography tour in Angola and another in Ladakh, I found myself connecting with new people and experiencing the world in a way that reminded me why I started this journey in the first place. It was a time to unplug, embrace the moments, and let the art of photography guide me again.
This time away also served as a trial run for something I’m excited about as the next stage in my journey—my own photography expeditions that I’ll be hosting next year. It will be a slow process as I want to do things right and in my own ethical approach.
But this is all for another day...
True satisfaction comes from pushing beyond what you already know. The greatest lessons and growth often come when you step out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself to explore the unfamiliar.
Until then, I’m going to be diving deeper into film photography - by the way if you want any tips on traveling with film let me know as it seems a popular topic - I've always dipped my toes in the film world but more for fun and experimentation, yet I find even more now it's such a great way to stay grounded, focus on the process, and find that sense of flow and joy that digital sometimes misses. I highly recommend anyone to play with film if they can, it's epic.
Next up is finishing the work on my photography course, which I’m eager to share with you (launch cohort will be soon). And, of course, I’m always pushing to make The MOOD Podcast better each week, aiming to bring on guests who will inspire and challenge us all—even in today’s crowded space where it’s tougher than ever to stand out.
Lots of exciting things to do, but sometimes we all need a break to a) remember how privileged we are (especially in my case) and b) reset your perspective on life and your own journey.
I appreciate your patience over these past few weeks, and I’m excited to continue this journey with you—one story, one photo, one conversation at a time.
Happy Shooting,
